Further North
BRIEFING
The Norte Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission took part in an internationalization action for tourism businesses, in Brazil, with the project “Mais a Norte” (Further Norte). They challenged us to develop a promotional film that would demonstrate the sense of national belonging and the region’s calling for modernity.
SOLUTION
To this end, we developed a promotional film that conveys the ideals of openness to the outside world, dynamism and creativity, and the values of a unique identity.
The film was intended to be used in an international setting. Inspired by the roots of a creative and doer DNA, we brought the concept of manifesto to this project. A statement, a clamor, a stance on what the region is and does. “Further Norte” represents a legitimate desire for affirmation.
As the historical birthplace of the Portuguese Nation and its permanent engine, the Northern region holds promise for the future. The entrepreneurial, frenetic, and effervescent spirit can be felt in the music produced especially for the film, which blends sounds of characteristic traditional instruments with contemporary electronic music elements.
The rhythmic succession of images of natural beauty and of an innovative industry, of a people that knows where they come from and where they are headed, captures the true essence of the north, represented as a safe bet to invest, visit, and live.
